Privacy Policy

FamilyWise is local-first. This page explains what stays on your device, what can sync, and what happens when you choose an AI feature.

What this policy covers

FamilyWise HQ is a local-first product of 5Line Ventures LLC. Everyday planning remains available on your device. If you create a 5Line account and connect a FamilyWise Home, account, household-membership, family-profile, planner-setting, meal-plan, saved-food, recipe-detail, list, and FamilyWise-event information can also be stored securely in the cloud for approved household members, web access, and authorized integrations.

Data on your device

Family members, meals, recipes, routines, reminders, events, lists, health notes, custody details, and most preferences are stored on your device using SQLite. When you connect a shared Home, supported family profiles and planner settings—including profile fields you choose to record—meal plans, saved food, recipe details, lists, and FamilyWise-created events can also sync. Device file paths, recipe photos, and device notification identifiers are not uploaded by household sync. Routines, reminders, cleaning tasks, and vehicle records remain device-only until FamilyWise expressly marks a future shared version as available.

5Line account and connected Home

A 5Line account is optional for local mobile planning and required for shared Home, web, and integration features. Supabase Auth processes your email address and credentials. 5Line Ventures does not receive or store your plaintext password. Cloud access is limited by household membership and role.

Purchases

FamilyWise uses RevenueCat to manage subscription status from Apple or Google. RevenueCat receives purchase receipt and subscription information, but not your household planning content. Subscription purchases and refunds are handled by the store where you subscribed.

Optional AI features

FamilyWise-managed AI is optional. When you choose an AI feature, only the content needed for that request may be sent to the FamilyWise backend and forwarded to OpenAI for processing. You can use manual planning without AI. An outside assistant can access FamilyWise only after you authorize it through the 5Line integration flow.

Outside-assistant connections

The FamilyWise HQ assistant connection can share the connected Home name and identifier; requested meal-plan dates, meal values, completion status, and record versions; enabled meal slots and planning days; family member display names, internal member identifiers, roles, broad age groups, eating schedules, user-provided allergies or food avoidances, dietary restrictions, likes and dislikes, and food preferences; saved-food and list record identifiers, names, types, ingredients, minimized recipe details, difficulty, budget, prep-time, side and leftover information, list items, and record versions; FamilyWise-created event identifiers, titles, dates, times, recurrence, assigned-member identifiers, and record versions; and calendar busy windows only when that calendar connection owner explicitly enables assistant context. An approved calendar window contains the assigned family member name, a title or the word “Busy” according to the owner’s sharing choice, start and end times, all-day state, and busy-only or details visibility. The connection intentionally excludes birthdates, health conditions, medications, custody details, private family notes, FamilyWise event notes and bring-item notes, passwords, payment information, recipe photos, local device paths, notification identifiers, calendar account emails, provider event identifiers, calendar notes, locations, raw provider records, calendars without assistant-context consent, operational request or trace identifiers, execution timestamps, and the rest of your chat history. Your assistant provider processes the specific tool request under its own terms and privacy policy.

Service providers

Supabase provides account, database, and authorization services. RevenueCat receives mobile-store subscription status. OpenAI processes FamilyWise-managed AI requests when you choose those features, and the provider of an outside assistant processes the specific FamilyWise tool request you authorize. OpenAI Sites hosts the FamilyWise website and 5Line integration gateway. We disclose information to these providers only for the services described here.

What we do not collect

FamilyWise does not collect location data, contacts, advertising identifiers, or third-party advertising data. We do not use advertising networks or sell personal information. If you contact support, we receive only the information you choose to include.

Children’s privacy

FamilyWise is designed for adults managing a household. Adults may record information about family members, including children, but we do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13.

Retention, deletion, and your choices

Local data remains on your device until you delete it or uninstall the app. Connected cloud data remains until the account or shared Home data is deleted. Gateway security and reliability logs record the tool name, permission, result status, contract version, duration, and a one-way shortened account reference; they exclude meal names, family content, raw tool inputs, and tool outputs and are retained for no more than 30 days. Support messages are retained while needed to answer the request and maintain a reasonable support record. You can export or clear local content in the app, disconnect the FamilyWise HQ plugin through your assistant provider, or contact support@familywise.net for account or cloud-data access, correction, or deletion requests.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as FamilyWise changes. We will update the date on this page and make reasonable efforts to notify users of significant changes.
